Inauguration of ISTE Chapter Activities for the year 2007-08

The ISTE Student Chapter Activities for the academic year 2007-08 was inaugurated by Dr. C K Subbaraya, Chairman ISTE Karnataka Section on 19 th October 2006 The function was attended by large number of Students as well as dignitaries of the local city .Chief Guest highlighted the importance of ISTE and ISTE Students Chapter . All the Students admitted this year have been registered for the ISTE Membership

Faculty Development Program

ISTE Chapter has organized Two-day Work Shop on Faculty Development for our teaching Staff Members on 7 th & 8 th April 2007Dr. B G Barki Professor and HOD of Education National Institute of Technical Training and Research, Chennai has conducted this Program. All Teaching Staff members from various departments are benefited from this program.The staff members were given Intensive Training in Presentation skills, how to improve quality of teaching etc

A Program on Professional Ethics

ISTE Chapter organized a Professional Ethics on 24 th August 2007 resource persons were Sri Nirbhayananda Saraswathi Swamiji President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama Gadag-Bijapur, Sri. Veereshananda Saraswati Swamiji President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram Tumkur. Sri Nirbhayananda Saraswathi Swamiji has Spoken on Professional Ethics and Sri. Veereshananda Saraswati Swamiji has spoken on youth and Nation building around 300 Students and Staff were benefited from this program.

Personality Development Programme

ISTE Chapter organized a “Personality Development Programme” for III semester Students on 18 th October 2007.Theresource person was Mr. Arvind Kulkarni HOD of Mechanical Engineering Department,KHK Institute, Dharwad. Around 350 Students were benefited from this program. The Students were given intensive Training in how to write written test, how to improve soft skills, Group Discussion and how to face interview etc. Participants are also given a certificate at the end of the program.

State level Paper Presentation and Debate contest ANVESHANA – 08

 A State level technical Paper Presentation and Debate contest “ANVESHANA – 2008” has been organized in association with Indian Society for Technical Education New Delhi on 16 th April 2008 at STJIT, Ranebennur.

This event was inaugurated by Dr. N R Shetty. National President and former vice chancellor Bangalore University. Engineering students of about 30 premier Engineering colleges of the state were participated in this contest.

This event helped our students to upgrade their knowledge and skill in Engineering and Technical education. Dr. S K Raikar Principal and Prof. T Chandrappa ISTE Secretary and organizing Secretary. Mr. Chandrashekar Kambli, faculty advisor and other office bearer of ISTE chapter were present on the occasion.

ISTE STUDENT CHAPTER has Organized a Three days Programme on “FEEL EMPLOYABLE” for 6 th semester students on 15 th ,16 th &17 th Feb. 2008 by Prof.Sunney Tharappan AIM INSIGHTS, the HRD Group. Around 250 students from various departments have attended this Programme. In this Programme the students were given intensive training in presentation skills, group discussions, soft skills, how to face interview etc.After this programme the students gave good opinion about this Programme.
