Department of Mechanical Engineering is headed by Prof. M BASAVARAJ, M.Tech, Ph D.
The department has well qualified, technically sound, and experienced faculty to cater to the needs of the present day Technical Education.
This Department was Established on 1980 with the intake of 90.
The Department has started the very first PG Program of the college on Machine Design with the intake of 18 from the academic year 2011-12.

The department has well equipped laboratories and workshops to impart effective training to the students. Students get practical training in various manufacturing processes like Foundry, Welding, Sheet Metal, Milling & also in the subjects like Material Science, Measurements & Metrology, IC Engine, Heat Transfer.
Besides these, they also get the practical training in the latest areas like Auto CAD, Ansi C etc.

The department conducts periodical lectures by experts for the benefit of the students and imparts advanced teaching & training in specialized subjects to our staff members.

The department has well furnished drawing halls with good lighting and ventilation. |

Students take up project work in college & in industries, which forms a part of their curriculum during their final year of study. Many projects are approved and financed by KSCST in the last 10 years.

“DYNAMECH”, the association of Department of Mechanical Engineering gives the thrust and enthusiasm for the students to their all round development.

DYNAMECH is involved in conducting technical seminars, skill improvement programs, workshops, technical quiz, sports etc.

Technical Paper Presentations by the Students |

Our students are encouraged and guided by the faculty to present the technical papers at the State and National level contests.

Our students have presented Technical papers at various institutes both at State & National Level under the guidance of Mr M S Raviraj.

Many papers have been selected for presentation and students have won the prizes.
